Tata Nexon EV price for monthly subscription now starts at Rs 29,500

The Tata Nexon EV has been available via the marque’s subscription service since August 2020, when Tata Motors partnered with Orix India to introduce it. Mooted as an alternative for those opposed to the idea of buying a car outright, Tata has now introduced updates to the scheme, including a significant reduction in the monthly subscription fees.

  • Monthly rental fees reduced by up to Rs 12,500
  • The new price range varies between Rs 29,500-40,400
  • Introduction of two monthly driving range caps: 2,000km and 2,500km
  • The compact SUV can be subscribed for the tenure of 12, 24, or 36 months.

Tata Nexon EV Subscription: What does the new plan offer?

While still being limited to Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluruand Hyderabad, there are more subscription options now on the table. Tata has made significant reductions in monthly rental fees – a subscriber can get the Nexon EV for up to Rs12,500 less, depending on the location and tenure period chosen.

Tata has also added variation for those who tend to drive greater distances. Unlike the previous plan, which placed a monthly driving cap of 1,500km a month, there are options for driving the EV 2,000km or 2,500km a month too.

While the 18-month tenure period for the Nexon EV has been discontinued, there are 12, 24 and 36-month options available now. Nexon EV subscribers also have the choice of extending or terminating the subscription in-between. Tata Nexon EV Subscription: What remains the same?

The subscription plan is still only applicable to the Nexon EV XZ+ variant. A user has to pay a one-time refundable security deposit of Rs50,000 and shell out the monthly subscription fee,which dependson the city and tenure period. As a part of the deal, Orix will install a complementary EV charger and wiring up to 15 metres at the customer premises. Wiring beyond 15 metres will be charged at Rs 250 a metre.  

Tata Nexon EV Subscription: How to subscribe?

One won’tneed to visit a Tata dealership to subscribe, as it can be done online on Tata Motors’ website. The general subscription procedure includes user registration followed by self-eligibility check and token payment of Rs 5,000, which is included in the security deposit. On clearing the credit profile, a user can move on to pay the refundable deposit fees and the firstmonth’s subscription fees. The compact SUV will then be delivered to the customer’s doorstep.
