It will be one of the first mass-market coupe-SUVs here, and will serve as an alternative to midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate. Find out answers to frequently asked questions about the Tata Curvv below.

What powertrains will be on offer with the Tata Curvv?

The Tata Curvv will come with four engine options. The first two are the 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel shared with the Tata Nexon. The Curvv will also debut Tata’s new 1.2-litre three-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that makes 125hp and 225Nm of torque. Finally, the coupe-SUV is also expected to have two all-electric powertrains on offer. Lower variants of the Curvv EV are expected to share the 40.5kWh batery pack with the Nexon EV LR, while higher trims will have a 55kWh unit. Their MIDC ranges have yet to be revealed, as have the motor’s specifications.

What features will the Tata Curvv get?

The latest information about the Tata Curvv says that it will sport the four-spoke steering from Harrier (with tweaks), a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a fully-digital driver’s display. Also on offer will be a segment-first powered tail gate with gesture function, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seat, ventilated front seats, and more. The top-spec variants will get ADAS Level 2 safety tech.

Will the Tata Curvv be bigger than the Nexon?

The Tata Curvv is based on the Nexon, but will be slightly larger than the compact SUV. In terms of dimensions, the Curvv will be 313mm longer than the Nexon, with a 62mm longer wheelbase. This means that it should offer a better legroom over the Nexon, however, the sloping roofline will result in a lower headroom at the back. However, the added length gives it 118 litres of extra boot space over Nexon (382 litres).

Which cars, SUVs will the Tata Curvv rival?

The Tata Curvv will have no direct rivals upon launch. It will serve as an alternative to midsize SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. It will soon be joined by the upcoming Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV in the segment. The Curvv EV will compete against the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.

How much will the Tata Curvv and Curvv EV cost?

Prices for the Tata Curvv EV and the standard Curvv will be revealed on August 7, 2024. While the EV is expected to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh – plonking it right in the middle of the Nexon EV and upcoming Harrier EV – the petrol versions could be priced from Rs 10 lakh-11 lakh onwards.
