Sweden’s auto industry IT recruitment activity rises 19.4% in May 2022

Sweden’s auto industry registered a 19.4% rise in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.05% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.74% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Sweden’s auto industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s auto industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.27% in May 2022, registering a 33.96% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.42% share, an increase of 36.36% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.58%, registering a 37.5% rise from April 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 3.85%, up 100% over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Sweden’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 52.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Sweden’s auto industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

AB Volvo posted 32 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 18.52% over the previous month, followed by Volkswagen with 27 jobs and an 80% growth. Scania with 24 IT jobs and Veoneer with 8 jobs, recorded a 71.43% growth and a 700% growth, respectively, while Autoliv recorded a decline of 16.67% with 5 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.73%, up by 37.1% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.5% share, registered an increase of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.77% share, up 20% over April 2022.
