Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 alloy wheels, price, colours, features

Royal Enfield has unveiled its Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 with alloy wheels overseas. This is a feature that owners have been asking for since the bikes were launched and along with this update there have been a few other changes to the popular bikes as well. 

1. New colours, blacked-out treatment on both

The big talking point of this update are the black alloy wheels with tubeless tyres which should answer the prayers of owners who have been clamoring for this feature since the bikes were launched. Tasks like patching a puncture or changing a tyre should now become quite a bit easier thanks to the tubeless tyres.

That’s not all as the 650 twins now get a new LED headlight (which appears to be the same unit as the Super Meteor 650), a USB charger and swtichgear borrowed from the newer RE models like the Hunter 350. 

Along with the alloys, both bikes get two new colour options, which are Black Ray and Barcelona Blue on the Interceptor 650, and Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey on the Continental GT 650. All the bodywork, engine components and exhaust pipes are finished in black. 

Considering the fact that the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 are crucial models for the Chennai-based marque in India, we expect the alloy wheel versions of the bikes to be launched sooner rather than later. The cast alloy rims are currently only present on the blacked-out variants of the two bikes. We expect this update to trickle down to the rest of the colourways or at least be offered as an accessory. Overseas, these new colours cost roughly Rs 6,000 more than the range-topping Mark 2 colourway on both bikes.
