New 350cc Honda bike launching tomorrow

Honda will launch the second motorcycle based on its new 350cc platform on 16 February 2021. The bike follows up after the launch of the Honda H’ness CB350 in September 2020.

  • Will feature a more modern design than the H’ness

  • Likely to be based on the same platform

  • Could take the shape of a scrambler, cafe racer or a retro-modern street bike

Honda has only revealed a single teaser image of the rear section of the new bike. What’s clear is that the tail section is new with a more contemporary looking LED tail lamp and indicators which seem to be borrowed from the Honda Hornet 2.0. The tyre visible on this bike also looks fatter than the one on the H’ness and there is a possibility that this bike may be running on 17-inch wheels – the H’ness uses a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination. What is clearly visible is that this tyre features a completely different tread pattern than the ones on the H’ness.

The seat appears to be different as well, with a different contour for the pillion section. The exhaust itself appears similar, but is swept up at a steeper angle. While the rest of the bike will be unveiled tomorrow, we don’t expect many changes to the mechanicals. That means this new bike should use the same 348.36cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that develops 20.8hp at 5,500rpm and 30Nm at 3,000rpm. The cradle frame chassis is likely to be the same as well.

Prices will be revealed tomorrow as well and we expect the bike to be positioned higher than the H’ness which starts at Rs 1.86 lakh, ex-showroom.
