Mercedes G Wagon price, GLS Maybach, booking details and waiting periods.

The waiting period for the AMG G63 is now up to 16 months while for the Maybach GLS 600, it is up to 10 months.

Mercedes-Benz has reopened bookings for its two high-end SUVs – the AMG G63 off-roader and the GLS Maybach 600. The carmaker says India has received additional units of these two high-end SUVs, and hence, bookings for them have been opened again. 

The bookings are initially open for existing Mercedes-Benz owners, before it is open to new customers. In addition to reopening the bookings, the carmaker says that the waiting period for the two luxury SUVs have been reduced substantially. 

Mercedes-AMG G63, Maybach GLS600 waiting periods reduced

Earlier last year, we had reported that the waiting period for high-end Mercedes cars, SUVs was up to two years, owing to their high demand globally. The G Class SUV had the longest waiting period and Mercedes had said the off-roader was sold out for two years. Now, with the increased allocations, Mercedes says the waiting period for the AMG G Class is a year and a half, compared to two-three years earlier.

Mercedes-Benz says the waiting period for the Maybach GLS 600 has also been reduced significantly, and currently stands at eight months for single-tone paint shade and up to 10 months for dual-tone paint shade. 

The AMG G63 and Maybach GLS 600 are a part of what Mercedes-Benz calls the Top-End Vehicle (TEV) segment, and it was the fastest growing segment within the Mercedes-Benz portfolio in 2022. 

New high-end Mercedes-Benz models incoming 

Mercedes-Benz recently announced that it is going to launch 10 new models in India this year. The high-end segment will be a key focus in 2023, with more than half the new Mercedes-Benz  launches coming from this segment. When it made the announcement, Mercedes-Benz teased a version of the G-Class but details of it are yet unknown.
