AMG E53 4Matic+ will be the fourth 53 series product in India; Mercedes-Benz India will also announce its product roadmap on January 6, 2023.
Mercedes-AMG is all set to launch the E53 Cabriolet 4Matic+ on January 6, 2023 in India. The AMG-spec four-seat convertible is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, and will come to India as a CBU. When launched, it will be the fourth ‘53’ series AMG model in India after the E53 sedan, GLE 53 coupe-SUV and the EQS53 EV sedan. This is not the first time that Mercedes is launching the open-top version of the E-Class in India. The carmaker had launched the previous generation of the E-Class cabriolet in 2010, and later its facelift in 2015,

Mercedes-AMG E53 Cabriolet: powertrain and performance
Like the E53 sedan and GLE 53 Coupe-SUV, the E53, the cabriolet also uses the same 435hp, 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with integrated starter generator which makes an additional 21hp and 249Nm of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes says that the E53 Cabriolet can go from 0-100 in 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top-speed of 250kph.
Mercedes-AMG E53 Cabriolet: design, interior and features
The Mercedes-AMG E53 Cabriolet gets AMG-specific enhancements like signature grille and a new front splitter giving it a front design similar to the AMG-GT supercar. The E53 Cabriolet measures 4,844mm in length, making it 109mm shorter than the E53 sedan.
The basic layout remains identical to its sedan counterpart with stand-out features being the chunky, flat-bottom AMG steering wheel and the large 12.3-inch instrument and infotainment screens.In terms of equipment, E53 Cabriolet comes with features like wireless phone charger, Burmester sound system and ambient lighting. It also gets neck heaters for the front occupants.

When launched, the E53 Cabriolet will have no direct rivals in the Indian market. Along with the launch of the E53 Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz will also detail its future plans for India at the conference.
