Maruti Swift, Maruti Swift price hike, next-gen Swift launch details

Swift’s prices have increased by up to Rs 39,000 depending on the variant.

Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of its Swift hatchback by Rs 15,000-39,000, depending on the variant. The price hike comes just weeks ahead of the next-gen Swift’s arrival in India.

Maruti Swift price hike

The ZXI+ variant of the Maruti Swift sees the highest price hike of Rs 39,000 for the manual version, while VXI, VXI AMT and VXI CNG variants receive the lowest increment of Rs 15,000. Prices of all remaining variants have been increased by Rs 25,000.

No visual or mechanical changes have been made to the Maruti Swift owing to the latest increase in price. Powering the Swift is a sole 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 5-speed AMT.

Next-gen Maruti Swift’s launch details

As per our sources, the next-gen Maruti Swift is all set to be launched in India next month.  The Swift will be one of Maruti’s biggest launches in 2024, and it will be followed by the all-new Dzire compact sedan later this year. The new Maruti Swift (codename:YED) will feature a fresh yet familiar design, a new interior, and all-new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

On the equipment front, the new Swift will be equipped with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as six airbags which will likely be standard across the range. Keeping in mind the latest price hike, the next-gen Swift is expected to be only marginally pricier than the model it is set to replace.
