Maruti Brezza price, Grand Vitara discounts, Jimny Thunder edition, launch details

Jimny gets discounts of upto Rs 2.3 lakh; Fronx and Grand Vitara get year-end offers too.

Maruti Suzuki is offering higher discounts and benefits across its line-up in order to clear unsold MY2023 stock. In a recent interaction, Shashank Srivastava, senior executive director, sales and marketing, Maruti Suzuki, cautioned that while the inventory levels in the industry are pegged at 30-35 days with a cumulative estimate of 330,000 units, degrowing slightly from 335,000 units at the start of November, the channel inventory is expected to come down significantly by end-December owing to aggressive schemes from manufacturers.

“Sales promotions will be higher in December and depending on model to model, one is likely to see higher discounts,” said Srivastava.

  3. No discount on Brezza, Ertiga and Dzire CNG

Maruti Nexa discounts: December 2023 

We can confirm that Maruti Suzuki has conveyed its dealer fraternity to be aggressive in sales to try and clear unsold MY2023 inventory. The biggest offer this month from Maruti is on the Jimny where prices have been reduced by up to Rs 2 lakh on both variants. Additionally, Maruti has also introduced a Jimny Thunder Edition in order to increase the niche SUV’s customer appeal. Some dealers tell us that the Thunder Edition Kit is also provided free of cost at some outlets in order to push sales. This increases the total discount to a whopping Rs 2.3 lakh for the entry-level Jimny Zeta.

Additionally, newly launched models like the Fronx also get discounts of upto Rs 40,000 on some variants. The Fronx is based on the Baleno and is averaging sales of around 11,000 units a month since its launch. What’s more, the popular Grand Vitara SUV which is Maruti’s rival to the Creta, Seltos, is also being offered with benefits of around 25,000 to Rs 35,000, depending on the variant. This also includes some variants of the fuel sipping Grand Vitara Hybrid. Other Maruti Nexa models like the Ciaz, Baleno and Ignis are also being offered with discounts in the range of Rs 35,000 to Rs 65,000, depending on model and inventory.

The Jimny has the highest year-end discount of all Maruti Suzuki models.
 

Maruti Arena discounts: December 2023 

On the Arena side, Maruti dealers have been told to push sales of models like the Swift CNG which now gets a special exchange bonus as well with total discounts going up by Rs 25,000 when compared to last month. The brand has also increased discount offers on the Alto K10 (Rs 52,000 to Rs 63,000) which also includes benefits on the CNG-powered model. The S-Presso high riding hatchback is now being offered with discounts of around Rs 56,000 while the popular WagonR gets year-end benefits upto Rs 63,000 depending on variant.

Even the Maruti Eeco is also being offered with benefits of upto Rs 35,000 this month. The Celerio gets discounts of around 70,000 on some variants while the popular Dzire compact sedan is the one that has the least year end discount on offer with no official discount being given by Maruti on the Dzire CNG that has a long waiting period. Additionally, a few dealers we spoke to are providing a Rs 20,000 worth CNG fuel card to buyers of select Maruti CNG models. This scheme was first introduced around Diwali this year but is now extended till December 31st.

No discounts on Ertiga and Brezza

The Ertiga has been Maruti’s blockbuster MPV since its launch and the brand has announced that it has around 67,000 pending orders for the MPV.  Another popular model from Maruti, the Brezza currently has a long order backlog with no discounts on the Brezza petrol while the Brezza CNG has benefits of around Rs 20,000.
