Mahindra XUV700, XUV700 waiting period, deliveries, pending orders

XUV700 pending orders have reduced from 35,000 units to just 16,000 units.

At its latest quarterly earnings call, Mahindra announced that it has about 16,000 pending orders of the XUV700 SUV. That’s a significant reduction from 35,000 pending orders of the XUV700 that Mahindra reported last quarter. The company receives about 8,000 bookings on average per month for the XUV700.

  1. XUV700 waiting period ranges between 1-5 months
  2. Gets monthly average bookings of 8,000 units

Mahindra has largely sorted out the problem of unusually long waiting period that plagued the XUV700 for a very long time. Nearly all variants can be delivered in just a months’ time, with the top-spec AX7 L trim seeing a maximum of just one and half months in waiting. At its peak, certain variants had their waiting period extending to well over a year.

Demand for the XUV700 has remained fairly consistent at about 8,000 units, which is also what Mahindra is understood to be producing each month; so, demand and supply are at par. Some of Mahindra’s other popular SUVs such as the Thar and Scorpio N, however, have much larger order backlog and thereby wait times.

The XUV700 is offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 200hp and 380Nm of torque, along with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine in two states of tune – 155hp and 360Nm in the entry-level variants, and 185hp and 420Nm (450Nm with AT) on the higher-spec variants. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engine also gets an all-wheel drive option. It can be had with either a 5-, 6- or a 7-seater configurations.

The Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs 13.99 lakh-26.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It directly rivals the Tata HarrierSafariMG Hector, Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and the Jeep Compass.
