Mahindra XUV300, XUV 3X0, deliveries, booking details, production

At its latest earnings call, Mahindra has revealed that as on May 1, 2024, the brand has an order backlog of about 2.2 lakh vehicles. This total includes the 50,000 orders Mahindra received for the XUV 3XO, which launched recently priced between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh.

In fact, the company claims that it received those 50,000 bookings in the span of 24 hours; bookings had commenced just yesterday. Mahindra will begin clearing the XUV 3XO’s order book from May 26 onwards, as deliveries are scheduled to begin then.

  1. Mahindra XUV 3XO receives good response
  2. Over 10,000 XUV 3XOs already built by Mahindra

While the Indian SUV specialist has not revealed details on which of the nine variants, or which of the six engine and gearbox combinations, are the more popular ones, it seems like Mahindra has received a good response for the compact SUV in the market.

For reference, when the pre-facelift XUV300 had arrived in February 2019, it had taken a month and a half for bookings to cross the 26,000 mark; in that context, the ‘50,000 bookings in 24 hours’ statistic indicates a much better market response. To meet that demand, Mahindra says it has already produced over 10,000 units of the compact SUV.

Launched on April 29, the XUV 3XO is a rival to the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti’s Brezza and Fronx, and Toyota’s Taisor, among other compact SUVs. The Mahindra sports some segment-best kit in the form of dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS tech and a panoramic sunroof. It comes with three engine options – a 111hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine; a 131hp, 1.2-litre direct injection turbo-petrol unit; and a 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel. The 111hp and 131hp petrol mills have 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor options, while the 117hp diesel has manual and 6-speed AMT options.
