An all-new 12.3-inch touchscreen finally replaces the older, fiddly infotainment system.
Lexus has launched the updated LC500h sports coupe in India with prices starting from Rs 2.39 crore (ex-showroom, India). The updated LC500h gets an all-new infotainment system, but that aside, remains largely unchanged in terms of design and powertrain. With this update, prices for the LC500h have gone up by Rs 10 lakh in India.

Lexus LC500h interior and features
The most notable update on the new LC500h is an all-new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that replaces the older 10.3-inch unit. Unlike the older screen that was deep set and integrated into the dashboard, the new screen is housed independently and has moved ahead towards the driver to allow for easier access. The new screen has a similar shape as in the Lexus RX, and also gets an all-new software interface with improved functionally as we saw in the RX.
The previous screen was also not a touch unit, and was operated through a separate touchpad on the centre console. The system, however, was far from intuitive in usage, so the new touchscreen is a much-needed ergonomic update apart from also improving functionality. With the touchpad now gone from the centre console, Lexus has also rearranged some of the buttons on the centre console for a cleaner look and better usability.
The new screen has also led to a slight redesign of the dashboard which now looks a lot more modern, although the classic, analog clock that was housed beside the older screen has now been given a miss. Elsewhere, things remain largely unchanged as the LC500h continues with great sense of quality, hand-stitched details, and exquisite craftsmanship. There are no major changes to the exterior design of the sports coupe either, but there’s a new design for the 21-inch alloy wheels.
Lexus LC500h engine, specs
Under the hood, the LC500h continues to be powered by a 3.5-litre, naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine that’s coupled with an electric motor and a self-charging lithium-ion battery. The combustion engine produces 300hp and 348Nm while the electric motor produces 180hp and 330Nm for a combined output of 354hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a clever gearbox that combines a 4-speed automatic with a CVT. When used in manual mode, this allows the driver to choose from a total of 10 gear ratios. The Lexus LC500h does 0-100kph in a claimed 4.7 seconds.
Recently, Lexus also launched the all-new RX SUV in India with prices starting from Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom), and later down the year, the Japanese carmaker is going to launch the Lexus LM luxury MPV that was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year.
