Defender 75th Limited Edition: cosmetic updates

The Defender 75th Limited Edition will be released three-quarters of a century after the legendary Land Rover Series I was unveiled in 1948 – then the name of the off-roader by the now-defunct Rover.

Available in either 90 or 110 bodystyles (the larger, eight-seat 130, which is not sold in India, has been omitted), it gets a Grasmere Green paint job – not seen before on a Defender, and synonymous with early Land Rover models – with 20-inch alloy wheels coloured to match the bodywork.

Other unique features include several “75 Years” graphics across the body and Ceres Silver bumpers. Inside, the dashboard’s cross car beam is also coloured to match the Grasmere Green.

The anniversary edition of the Defender has been positioned as a highly collectible piece, the brand said, but has not placed a cap on production numbers.

Defender 75th Limited Edition: powertrain and tech

Under the bonnet, the two powertrain options are the 296hp D300 diesel (90 and 110 models) and the 398hp P400e plug-in hybrid (110 only). Tech includes a 3D surround camera, Configurable Terrain Response, a Meridian sound system and an 11.4in Pivi Pro infotainment system. All vehicles get a number of options as standard too, including the towing pack, with buyers able to replace the standard folding fabric roof with a sliding panoramic option.

While there is no news of the Defender 75th Limited Edition coming to India, the brand currently sells the 90 as well as the 110 versions of the Defender SUV. The brand also recently introduced the latest-gen Range Rover and also the Range Rover Sport SUV line-up in the country.
