The Seltos facelift will get a slightly different design than the international model.

The upcoming Kia Seltos facelift has finally been spotted sans camouflage near the firm’s plant in Andhra Pradesh. These images show that the India-spec Seltos will be slightly different cosmetically than the global-spec model. The Kia Seltos facelift is due to be launched in India very soon.

  2. It will also be the first Kia in India to get ADAS
  3. 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol to also be offered

Kia Seltos facelift exterior design

Compared to the international model, the facelift of Kia’s midsize SUV in India will get a slightly larger bumper and more body cladding. It will also get body-coloured inserts in the fog lamp housing. Similarities up front include the redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps that are also integrated into the grille. Interestingly, a small box can also be seen in the bumper, indicating that it will get an ADAS suite.

In profile, nothing much has changed apart from the cladding on the doors. While the international-spec models get a new design for the alloy wheels, the India-spec car can be seen with the same alloy wheels as the outgoing Seltos X-Line.

At the back, the Seltos facelift in India will have a different bumper design than the global model as it also gets red inserts for the reverse light housing. The Seltos facelift seen in the pictures is the GT Line trim and these inserts in the front and rear bumper could be limited to the higher-spec trim. Unlike the outgoing car and the international model, this facelift can also be seen with two visible exhaust tips and it remains to be seen if they will be functional or are just for show.

Kia Seltos facelift interior and features

The biggest update to the interior of the Seltos will be the twin-screen layout with a digital instrument cluster. While the outgoing model also gets a single binnacle for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, the former was a lot deeper set and only had a MID between the two analogue gauges.

The Seltos facelift will also get slightly slimmer central AC vents under the touchscreen and the AC controls also get a new look. The automatic variants will now get a rotary drive selector instead of the conventional lever.

One of the biggest new features on the Seltos facelift will be the addition of the panoramic sunroof, which has almost become a norm in the segment. As mentioned, it is also likely to get ADAS, which will make it the first Kia in India with this safety suite. The midsize SUV will also get features like six airbags as standard, hill-assist control, vehicle stability management, parking sensors and camera.

Kia Seltos facelift powertrain

Under the hood, the Seltos facelift is expected to continue with the existing 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Kia will likely re-introduce the turbo-petrol engine with the facelift with it now getting a 1.5-litre unit producing 160hp and 253Nm of torque. Gearbox options are likely to be carried over from the outgoing model.

Kia Seltos facelift rivals

When launched, the Kia Seltos facelift will rival the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor along with the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross
