Kia has revealed the pricing of its electrified Niro crossover range as it unites its zero-emissions models at an ‘Electric Experience’ dealership event touring the UK.
The all-new Niro EV, Sportage and EV6 will be united for customers to see and experience at showrooms across the UK as the ‘Electric Experience’ tours the Korean brand’s 191 franchised showrooms between April 20 and July 8, starting in the south east before working their way north.
Freshest in the line-up is the new Niro.
Pricing for the range, which includes hybrid, plug-in hybrid and EV derivatives, has been revealed today (April 20).
Customers can choose from ‘2’, ‘3’ or ‘4’ trim grades, with Niro Hybrid pricing starting from £27,745 for the ‘2’ and rising to £30,495 for ‘3’ and £33,245 for ‘4’ grades.
Niro Plug-in Hybrid models are priced from £32,775 for the ‘2’ grade, £35,525 for the ‘3’, and £38,275 for top-spec ‘4’ model.
The EV starts from £34,995 for the ‘2’, £37,745 for the mid-range ‘3’ grade, and £40,495 for the top-spec ‘4’ model.
Kia president and chief executive Paul Philpott recently told AM that the UK’s full 2022 quota of EV6 crossovers had been sold already.
However, the new Sportage and Niro model line-ups will be central to the brand’s goal of reaching 100,000 new car registrations this year.

The new Niro, which has attracted more than 70,000 car buyers since its launch in 2016, is yet to reach UK showrooms but customers can now pre-order the new version.
Customers can now pre-order their all-new Niro from today with the first UK customer deliveries expected to commence in early Q3.
Its trim levels see Hybrid ‘2’ models feature 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, cloth upholstery, a dual-height boot floor for extra versatility, rear parking sensors and camera system, an eight-inch touchscreen display with DAB radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 4.2-inch instrument cluster.
Forward Collision Avoidance with car, pedestrian and cyclist recognition and junction crossing and Smart Cruise Control (SCC) are also standard.
Niro EV ‘2’ buyers will see their car additionally pair an 8.0-inch touchscreen display with 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and also feature 17-inch alloy wheels, 11kW on-board charger, and a battery heating system.
For Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid variants, the move up to the mid-range ‘3’ grade brings 18-inch alloys, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation system, front parking sensors, keyless smart entry and heated seats and steering wheel among its specification highlights.
In addition to this, Niro Hybrid, PHEV and EVs with the ‘4’ grade feature a head-up display, twin 10.25-inch touchscreen and instrument cluster displays, heated rear seats and ventilated front seats, a power operated tailgate, electric sunroof, an uprated Harman Kardon premium sound system, driver’s side memory seating, and front passenger lumbar support.
The new Niro EV’s 64.8 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack and a 204PS electric motor claims a 287-mile range and the ability to accelerate to 62mph in 7.8 seconds.
Recharging from 10 to 80 per cent takes as little as 45 minutes, meanwhile.
The Niro Hybrid features a 1.6-litre GDi engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Combined with a 44PS electric motor this delivers a total output of 141PS.
The PHEV is powered by the same 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine but is paired with a larger 84PS electric motor, resulting in a combined power output of 183PS.
An electric-only driving range of up to 40 miles is projected for the PHEV version.
