Kawasaki KLX 150BF being considered for India launch

The Kawasaki KLX 150BF was recently showcased at the India Bike Week (IBW) in Goa and Kawasaki India displayed it to find out if people would be interested in buying the bike, if the company launches it in our market.

What makes the KLX 150BF particularly interesting is the fact that though it is a proper off-road bike, it is completely road legal. Meaning, it gets a headlight, tail light, mirrors, turn indicators and a number plate holder at both ends.

The KLX 150BF is powered by a 144cc, four-stroke. Air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 11.52hp and 11.3Nm and is paired with a five-speed gearbox.

As for the design, it looks every bit as an off-road bike, evident in the small headlight cowl, high-mount front fender, slim, 7-litre fuel tank, seat and a minimal tail. Under the bodywork is a slim, perimeter frame, suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock. `The bike rides on wire-spoke wheels shod with knobby tyres. What should also make it easier to handle off-road abilities is its 118kg kerb weight.

If launched, the Kawasaki KLX 150BF should serve as a stepping stone for beginners who want to get into the world of riding a motorcycle off-road.
