Additionally, dealer sources confirm that Jeep has discontinued the Longitude (O) variant, which was available with the 1.4-litre petrol DCT and 2.0-litre diesel manual combinations.

Dealer sources also tell us that the waiting period for the Compass is three months for the base Sport variant, and between six to eight weeks for the higher variants. The Compass, with its wide price bracket, rivals a range of SUVs like the Tata Harrier and the newly launched Hyundai Tucson.

Powertrain options for the Compass include a 163hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and a 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The Compass was launched in 2017 and received a mid life-cycle facelift in 2021; its 5th Anniversary Edition was launched in August. Towards the end of this year, the American SUV maker is also gearing up to introduce the new-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Indian market.
