Over 10,000 Venue, i20 N Line variants sold in India in 2023; Creta N Line on the way.

Retail sales of sporty Hyundai N Line models in India are slowly seeing an uptick. The Korean brand introduced the N Line range in India with the i20 back in 2021, and in 2022, it introduced the second product in its line-up – the Venue N Line. Both models have seen combined sales of over 10,000 units in 2023, says Hyundai. The brand is now looking to add more models to its India N Line portfolio.

  1. Creta N Line launch expected in coming months
  2. Will be the third N Line model for India
  3. More N Line models to follow

In a recent media interaction, Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai India, said, “N Line is a very niche product and we are happy with the numbers it has got us. In fact, there will be more N Line products that we will launch in India very soon and we are expecting sales to reach 15,000-20,000 units in the next few years.”

While Hyundai has not said which N Line model will be next, we can confirm that the brand will be cashing in further on the popular Creta SUV that will see an N Line version later this year. The Creta N Line will be based on the Creta facelift that will go on sale in the coming days.

Hyundai Creta N Line exterior, interior

The Creta facelift was recently teased ahead of its global debut and going by the styling tweaks the current N Line models have over their standard siblings, one can expect the Creta N Line to follow a similar design theme.

Expect minor tweaks to the front bumper, grille and front chin with N Line-specific red accents clubbed with gloss black and faux-brushed aluminium bits. It will get a unique alloy wheel design, side skirts, N Line badges on the sides and styling tweaks to the rear bumper as well. On the inside, expect an all-black interior theme, N Line specific gear lever and steering wheel with red stitching, among other things.

Hyundai Creta N Line expected powertrain

As we reported recently, the Creta facelift will get three engine options with the new 1.5-litre, 160hp, turbo-petrol joining the line-up, replacing the erstwhile 1.4-litre engine.

This will likely be the engine option on the N Line version as well, mated to the 7-speed DCT gearbox. While we do not expect any changes to the engine output, Hyundai will likely offer a sportier suspension setup, a sportier-sounding exhaust and tweaked steering dynamics as with other N Line models.

Upcoming Hyundai SUV launches: 2023 and beyond

The first big launch from Hyundai this year will be the Creta facelift, followed by the Creta N Line. The Alcazar is also due for a facelift this year, and the facelifted Tucson that was revealed internationally last year could make it to India sometime in 2024.
