Hyundai Creta price, Alcazar Adventure Edition, launch details, feature list

Creta and Alcazar Adventure Editions will come with both petrol and diesel engine options.

Hyundai is readying a new special edition of both the Creta and Alcazar SUVs. Likely to be called the Adventure Edition, it will come in as a replacement to the Creta’s Knight Edition, but will also be additionally available on the Alcazar. Our dealer sources tell us that launch of the new Creta and Alcazar Adventure Editions are slated for August-end or early-September.

  2. Likely to get all-black interiors
  3. Could be offered in limited numbers

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure Edition: what’ll be new?

Like the Creta Knight Edition, the Creta and Alcazar Adventure Editions will purely be a cosmetic exercise. Both SUVs will get a new ‘Ranger Khaki’ colour option that was first seen on recently launched Exter. It will likely have a dual-tone finish with a contrasting black roof, so visually you can think of it as similar to Tata’s Camo Edition line-up.

The blacked-out treatment could also be meted out of the front and rear bumper garnishes, roof rails, wing mirrors and alloy wheels, similar to the Exter. This special paint shade will also be accompanied with Adventure Edition badges, but there will be no other major cosmetic changes to either SUVs.

Our dealer sources tell us that the interior in the Adventure Edition of both SUVs will get an all-black finish. This will likely be accompanied with contrast stitching for the upholstery and ‘Adventure Edition’ badges on the seat headrests and door sills. Like the Knight Edition, the Adventure Edition is also expected to be offered on multiple trims, and the features list will be equivalent to trim its based on.

Hyundai Creta, Alcazar Adventure Edition: no mechanical updates

There will be no changes under the hood of either SUVs, which means the Creta will likely get it with both its 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines while the Alcazar will get it with its 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines. Like the Knight Edition model, the Adventure Edition will also be offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Expect the Hyundai Adventure Edition line-up to be priced at a slight premium over the regular trims they will be based on for both SUVs.

Special Edition models like these are quite the trend in the midsize SUV segment. For instance, Skoda recently came up with the Lava Blue Edition and Matte Edition of the Kushaq, Volkswagen did the same with the Taigun GT Edge Limited Edition, Tata does several such special editions with almost all of its models and even Jeep has multiple special editions of the Compass. The idea is to keep the buzz around the model alive, especially during the festive season.
