Hyundai Creta, N Vision 74, future supercar, hydrogen power

After endless speculations, Hyundai has cleared its futuristic N Vision 74 performance EV for production. The company recently confirmed this development at its 2024 CEO Investor Day. The N Vision 74 will go into limited production, and a global debut of the production-spec car could take place in 2026.

  1. N Vision 74’s design pays homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe
  2. The performance EV’s combined output is just above 679hp
  3. Hyundai to build around 200 units of the N Vision 74

Hyundai N Vision 74 to be the brand’s Halo car

The N Vision 74’s looks are a homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe designed by Italdesign’s Giorgetto Giugiaro, and it will be the company’s halo model similar to the Lexus LFA.

The car debuted as a concept in mid-2022. It is powered by two rear-mounted electric motors that together make just over 679hp. These motors are fed by a 62.4kWh battery that can be charged on the go by a 95kW hydrogen fuel cell. The large battery can be rapidly charged like in any BEV, and the 4.2kg hydrogen tank can be refilled in just five minutes, yielding a total range of over 595km.

Reports suggest that the N Vision 74 will have a limited production run of around 200 units globally, with each unit priced over $300,000. The N Vision 74 will be one of the offerings in Hyundai’s future electric line-up, which will comprise mass market, mid-level, luxury and performance EVs. The automaker plans to introduce as many as 21 EVs globally by 2030.
