Hyundai car, SUV extended warranty prices and details

Owners of discontinued Hyundai cars and SUVs can also purchase extended warranty for their model.

Hyundai India has introduced a new extended warranty option for the sixth and seventh year for its petrol cars and SUVs. The new option too will be available in two slabs – one within 90 days of the car’s delivery and the other after 90 days of delivery, but before the expiry of the basic or the extended warranty.

  • Hyundai extended warranty now goes up to 7 years
  • Longer warranty option only for petrol cars, SUVs
  • New and discontinued Hyundai models eligible

Hyundai customers can extend warranty from fourth year onwards

The Korean carmaker is giving buyers three options with the new warranty scheme. The first one is where an existing customer with a five-year-old model can separately purchase a 2 year/1,00,000 extended warranty, i.e., a 6th and 7th year/1,00,000km warranty. This is applicable to Hyundai’s current line-up like the Venue SUVAura compact sedan, the Grand i10 Nios hatchback as well as some of the brand’s now discontinued models like the Eon. Prices for this warranty range between Rs 6,989 and Rs 27,762, depending on the model and delivery period slab.

The second option applies to cars that are four years old, where buyers can opt for an additional 3 year/1,00,000km warranty, the prices for which range from Rs 9,521 to Rs 37,820, depending on the model and delivery period slab.

The last option is for buyers who wish to continue beyond the standard 3-year warranty offered on Hyundai cars. They can extend their warranty with the 4 year/1,00,000km pack by paying between Rs 15,154 and Rs 46,530, depending on the model and the delivery period slab. It must be noted that the now-discontinued Eon hatchback is not eligible for this warranty.

What is the extended warranty that rival brands offer?

Most of Hyundai’s rivals offer an extended warranty package of up to five years but with differing odometer readings. Its sister brand, Kia, offers an additional warranty of up to 5 year/unlimited km and Honda does the same with their cars.

Maruti Suzuki offers its customers up to 5 years/1,00,000km extended warranty, while Volkswagen and Skoda both offer up to 6 years/1,50,000km and Tata Motors offers up to 3 years/unlimited km.
