Honda introduces new variants of the Activa and Dio

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is set to launch new variants of the Activa 6G and Dio, as per recent type approval documents filed with the Delhi RTO.

Honda Activa 6G: two new variants

The type approval document suggests that the Activa will be available in two variants Activa 6G and Activa 6G LED. While the document doesn’t elaborate on details about the variants, chances are that one of the variants could be an all-LED setup. At present, the Activa 6G gets an LED headlight. We may also finally see Honda kit the top variant with alloy wheels, giving customers a choice over the current Activa 6G that comes with steel wheels.

Honda Dio: four new variants

The Honda Dio is also going to be available in four new variants. With composite cast wheels, with a digital speedometer, with composite cast wheel and 3D emblem, and with digital speedometer and 3D emblem. At present, the Dio Repsol Honda edition is the only variant to get alloy wheels.

Barring this, both scooters are mechanically the same. Powered by a 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine, the unit in the Activa 6G makes 7.68hp at 8,000rpm and 8.79Nm at 5,250rpm. The Dio’s engine makes 7.65hp at 8,000rpm and 9Nm at 4,750rpm.

Expect these variants of the Honda Activa 6G and Honda Dio to be introduced in a few weeks.
