Hero Destini 125 XTEC launched with Bluetooth connectivity

The 125cc scooter gains an LED headlight and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hero has added to its feature-rich XTEC lineup with the launch of the Destini 125 XTEC. This version of the 125cc scooter is priced at Rs 79,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and now gains an LED headlight and Bluetooth connectivity over its standard counterparts. Despite the addition of connectivity features, the scooter continues to use a semi-digital instrument cluster that looks very similar to the regular version’s.

While the standard Destini 125 gets LED position lamps and a halogen headlight, this XTEC variant gets LED technology for both. The design of the rear grab rail is also different on the XTEC, and it gets a pillion backrest as standard, which the lower variants miss out on.

Despite the addition of these extra features, the Destini does not receive a front disc brake, and continues with drum brakes at both ends. There are no changes to the engine either, with the XTEC variant using the same 9.1hp, 10.4Nm, 124.6cc single-cylinder engine as the more affordable variants.

The Destini XTEC joins the Glamour XTEC and Pleasure Plus XTEC in receiving Bluetooth connectivity, which is also featured on the Xtreme 200S and Xpulse models.

At its launch price, the XTEC version is around Rs 4,000 more expensive than the most expensive non-Bluetooth-equipped version of the Destini 125. Do you think this is a fair premium to pay for the extra features on offer? Tell us in the comments below.
