Genesis Motor UK includes servicing in G80 saloon and GV80 SUV prices

Genesis Motor UK has revealed the prices of its G80 saloon and GV80 SUV ahead of the Hyundai premium brand’s launch of its online-only car sales this summer.

Prices for the G80 will start at £37,460 while the GV80 SUV begins at £56,715, which include home delivery, warranty, servicing, roadside assistance, courtesy car, mapping and over-the-air software as part of the brand’s Five-Year Care Plan.

Genesis revealed its plans for a UK launch as part of a wider roll-out across Europe in a virtual launch event earlier this month.

A spokesperson confirmed to AM that the brand, which places an online only retail process at its core, will also provide its own aftersales service – with no prospect of a franchised set-up.

The brand’s G80 and GV80 will be the first Genesis products to open for orders in the UK.

AM reported that Genesis’ marketing bosses had referred to the brand as ‘product launch fantasy’, however, and a more compact G70 saloon, G70 Shooting Brake and GV70 SUV are set to be added to its product line-up within a year.

Commenting on the arrival of the G80 and GV80 to the UK, Genesis Motor Europe managing director, Dominic Boesch, said: “The G80 and GV80 are the two flagship models that have been carefully selected to introduce the Genesis brand to our UK customers.

“Both models showcase the ‘Genesis difference’ – customers can expect to be impressed not only by the design and safety of the vehicles; but also by our service offering which provides convenience and total peace of mind afforded by our Five-Year Care Plan.”

Premium Line and Luxury Line specifications will be offered in both the G80 saloon and GV80 SUV.

The G80 will be offered as a 2.2-litre turbodiesel with rear-wheel-drive or 2.5 turbocharged petrol with all-wheel-drive. Both powertrains come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The all-wheel-drive GV80 SUV will be offered with the choice of a three-litre turbodiesel or 2.5-litre petrol model, with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and the option of seven seats.

Genesis said that both its debut vehicles offer distinctive exterior design with trademark Genesis design cues, including the Quad Lamps that extend outward across the vehicle from the Crest Grille.

A wide, confident stance delivers presence on-road, while the sweeping Parabolic Line, visible across the shoulder of both vehicles, balances the proportions to lend prestige.

While full specification details have yet to be published, Genesis Motor UK said that its cars would deliver “best-in-class safety and state-of-the-art technology” as standard.
