General Motors’s IT hiring activity declines by 9.7% in June 2022

US-based company General Motors IT hiring declined 9.7% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 9.61% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 21.58% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 1.48% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops General Motors IT hiring in June 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by General Motors, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 62.5% in June 2022, and a 284.62% rise over May 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 21.25% in June 2022, and registered growth of 88.89%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 6.25% in June 2022, a 66.67% rise from May 2022.

North America drives IT hiring at General Motors

North America emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in June 2022 with an 82.5% share, which marked a 135.71% rise over the previous month.

Middle East & Africa stood next with 15%, registering a 300% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 1.25% share and a flat growth over May 2022.

In the fourth place was Europe with a share of 1.25% and a month-on-month flat growth.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 61.25% share in June 2022, an 88.46% growth over May 2022. Canada featured next with a 20% share, up 1500% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 13.75% share, an increase of 266.67% compared with May 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead General Motors IT hiring activity in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.5%, up by 90.91% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 37.5% share, a growth of 400% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10% share, up 100% over May 2022.
