Gefco Germany adds 20% space to Wiesbaden warehouse

Gefco Germany has added nearly 20% more space to its Wiesbaden warehouse in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region.

The company now offers automotive customers a total of 10,000 m2 at its facility for managing their spare parts business.

The expansion will also enable Gefco to test value-added features, such as voice-led or combined solutions and cobots, in the coming months.

Gefco notes facilities management 4.0 is on the verge of making warehousing flows faster, safer and more efficient and cobots are at the heart of this transformation. Developed from a combination of machine learning, artificial intelligence and IoT, collaborative robots work in hand with warehouse workers to manage repetitive tasks and enhance human safety.

“We are very enthusiastic about the additional possibilities offered by this facility and keen to test solutions designed to optimise our operations,” said Gefco Germany GM, Frank Erhardt.

“We are proud to work on these innovations alongside our customers, who include most leading automotive brands, and continue bringing value as their business evolves. It is a great opportunity to expand and innovate in this region, the hub of the German automotive industry and we are looking forward to welcoming more customers to our facility.”

Gefco adds it designs and manages warehouse solutions, which “enhance the performance” of customers’ supply chains

Through its platforms located close to customers’ plants worldwide, the Group helps partners optimise stock levels and component deliveries to the assembly line to ensure spare part availability.
