Gefco and Fenix, owner and operator of the Bronka sea terminal in Saint-Petersburg, have signed a contract for the handling and storage of Volvo cars.
Through the terms of the new contract, Gefco will receive Volvo vehicles from ferries in Port Bronka, handle customs clearance and track onward delivery by car transporters throughout the country.
As a Gefco contractor, Fenix will be responsible for storing the cars until handling at the port is completed.
“Our cooperation with Fenix under the Volvo Car Russia contract is not Gefco’s first experience with Bronka Port,” said Gefco Russia general director, Valeria Seledkova.
“We are glad we can count on our partner’s support to implement this project for one of our biggest clients.”
Gefco has been a global partner of Volvo Cars for more than 15 years and Gefco Russia has cooperated with Volvo Car Russia since 2010. In addition to managing automotive logistics, Gefco also transports heavy construction and industrial equipment, spare parts and components.
“As the Bronka Port operator, we have been providing services, including passenger car handling and storage, since 2017,” added Fenix executive director, Alexey Shukletsov.
“Our car storage facilities meet all the client’s requirements, as confirmed by the preliminary audit by Volvo Car Russia and Gefco.
“Our software enables automatic document control, passenger car acceptance, issuance and maintenance processes, which are tailored to meet the needs of car manufacturers.”
