Thyssenkrupp was named one of the top-performing global suppliers at the 23rd annual Ford World Excellence Awards.
In the category Must-Have Products, Thyssenkrupp Bilstein was honored for its shock absorber technology designed for the new Bronco.
The supplier was awarded for its innovative strength, customer focus, improvement of the customer experience and co-branding support.
Fabian Schmahl, CEO of Thyssenkrupp Bilstein North America, said: “To have been involved in the new Ford Bronco project was a great experience for us. This vehicle is an SUV legend, which we wanted to honor in its latest version with an extremely powerful and robust suspension product. The award is a great confirmation of our joint development work with the customer.”
For special performance requirements, the supplier launched end stop control valve (ESCV) technology especially developed for this application to enable optimum damping characteristics under extreme conditions in off-road use as well as maximum ride comfort under normal loads in road traffic.
The product was developed and is manufactured in Hamilton, Ohio.
For several decades, the group’s automotive segment has supplied Ford with chassis and powertrain technology as well as body assembly products.
