Ford Ranger: what is it?

The Ranger is a popular product from Ford and is sold in many countries across the globe. It is a direct rival to the likes of the other ladder-frame based lifestyle pickups like the Toyota Hilux, the Isuzu D-Max, the Chevrolet Colorado and the Volkswagen Amarock. It comes with multiple petrol and diesel engine options and also gets a Raptor performance variant that churns out a healthy 288hp from a 3.0-litre V6 engine, has an enhanced chassis, more off-road gear and looks more butch than the standard Ranger.

Ford Ranger: India launch details

The Ranger has never been on sale in India. The model however has a lot in common with the Ford Endeavour SUV which is set to make a comeback in India soon. If Ford decides to bring the Ranger here, it can be a formidable competitor to the likes of the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max which are currently on sale in India.
