Faurecia joins ‘We Mean Business’ carbon neutrality coalition

Faurecia has signed the letter led by the ‘We Mean Business’ coalition calling on the G20 to maintain the 1.5°C commitment of the Paris Agreement.

COP26 is currently being held in Glasgow until 12 November, with all members of the We Mean Business coalition noting they are committed to achieving net zero emissions by mid-century, consistent with global efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

These objectives are in line with Faurecia’s CO2 neutrality trajectory, validated by SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative).

Faurecia has joined the ‘We Mean Business’ Coalition, marking our strong commitment to the climate,” said Faurecia CEO, Patrick Koller.

“We are engaged to join forces with other leading global organisations to help tackle global warming. Maintaining the 1.5°C will require a profound and urgent transformation of our society, of the economy and all the systems that support them.

“As a company, we have a responsibility to make a positive impact on society. As a player in the automotive industry, we are taking concrete actions to reduce the carbon footprint of our activities and to offer solutions for a sustainable mobility.”

Faurecia is committed to achieving CO2 neutrality for Scopes 1 and 2 by 2025. The Group is also targeting to reduce by half its scope 3 emissions by 2030 and aims for full CO2 neutrality by 2050, including the use phase of its products.

These targets are aligned with the 1.5°C ambition of the Science Based Target initiative.
