Stoneacre Motor Group’s efforts to deliver eco-friendly car sales have seen it branch out with a new tree-planting partnership which has taken root in its Lexus Newcastle and Lexus Teeside dealerships.
The retail site on Cygnet Drive, Stockton-on-Tees and Cobalt Park Way, The Silverlink, Newcastle, will plant a tree for every car it sells as part of a new partnership with Tree-Nation.
Each customer will receive a personalised Tree Certificate that will allow access to a virtual Stoneacre Lexus Forest, giving a glimpse of the number of trees the initiative has delivered.
Mark Zavagno, digital operations director for Stoneacre Motor Group, said: “as the world continues to focus on sustainability, it has become increasingly important to us to be aware of our practices as a company.
“With our new partnership with Tree-Nation, we have the opportunity to prompt a change towards a greener future.”
Stoneacre’s partnership is not the first of its kind in the sector.
In April last year Vindis Group marked Earth Day with a pledge to plant a tree with every car its sells as part of a wider bid to become a carbon neutral business.
Speaking at the time, Vindis Group managing director Jamie Vindis said the project marked “a significant step forward in our ambition to become a Net Zero organisation by 2030”.
Lexus is now poised to launch its first electric vehicle (EV), the RZ.
The 313PS premium SUV claims a range of around 250 zero-emissions miles and was driven and reviewed by AM’s sister title Fleet News earlier this month.
