BMW X3, X3 India price, X3 M Sport Shadow Edition, design and new features

X3 M Sport Shadow Edition costs Rs 2.40 lakh more than the regular M Sport variant.

BMW has launched a new variant of the X3 SUV called the M Sport Shadow Edition. Priced at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the BMW X3 M Sport Shadow Edition gets blacked-out exterior elements, subtle updates to the interior upholstery and the familiar 190hp 2.0-litre diesel engine under the hood.

BMW X3 M Sport Shadow Edition: what’s new?

The X3 M Sport Shadow Edition gets a gloss black finish for the grille, the window surrounds, the roof rails and the tail pipes at the rear. The 19-inch M-spec alloy wheels, meanwhile, are finished in silver. Its available in two colours – Brooklyn Grey and Carbon Black – and can additionally be specced with optional packages such as the Black Edition Package or the Carbon Edition Package. The former gets you an M-spec rear spoiler, a side strip graphic and an M logo on the front fender, all finished in black. The latter gets you a gear lever and door sills in carbon fibre.

On the inside, the X3 M Sport Shadow Edition gets new leather upholstery in dual-tone Mocha and Black with contrast blue stitching. The M Sport package adds an M-spec steering wheel, sports seats and sporty interior trims; it also exclusively gets electric front seats with memory function. Some highlight features include a panoramic sunroof, configurable ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, rear sunshades, head up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system.

BMW X3 M Sport Shadow Edition: powertrain, specs

Under the hood, the C3 M Sport Shadow Edition continues with the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 190hp and 400Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox; all-wheel drive is standard. BMW claims a 0-100kph sprint time of 7.3 seconds and a top-speed of 213kph. It also gets adaptive air suspension and electronic differential locks as standard.

The M Sport Shadow Edition is priced at a premium of Rs 2.40 lakh over the regular M Sport variant of the X3, and its rivals includes the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Audi Q5.
