Inaugural Bharat Mobility Global Expo attracted approximately 800 exhibitors and about 1.5 lakh visitors.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, meant to be a groundbreaking event aimed at showcasing India’s prowess in the mobility sector, has concluded its first edition on a resounding note. The Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, announced on the final day that the immensely successful expo would now become an annual affair. Commending this year’s achievements, Minister Goyal emphasised the event’s colossal scale and its significant impact on the mobility industry.

The inaugural Bharat Mobility Global Expo, held from February 1 to 3, attracted approximately 800 exhibitors who presented cutting-edge innovations. The event witnessed great support, with a record-breaking 1,50,000 registered visitors, including business professionals.

Expressing optimism for the future of the mobility sector, Goyal stated, “This marks a significant milestone within the mobility sector, representing a crucial threshold for success. Every year, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is going to be an institution of ideas and innovations that would further help demonstrate India’s growth story to the people of our nation. This year’s overwhelming success, marked by the participation of top industry players, innovators, and a massive audience, has solidified its importance as a crucial platform for the mobility sector.”

Responding to a query from our sister publication Autocar Professional on the future of biennial Auto Expo, Goyal said “We will merge all automotive shows into the annual Bharat Mobility show.”

Highlighting the symbiotic relationship between the technology and automotive sectors, Goyal added, “Software and technology companies are poised to play a transformative role by contributing up to 150 billion dollars to the mobility sector.”

The expo is said to have played a crucial role in facilitating business interactions, promoting technological advancements, and fostering collaborations among industry leaders. “The response we’ve received this year is a testament to the growing significance of the mobility sector in India. The expo has emerged as a key catalyst for driving innovation, showcasing the latest technologies, and shaping the future of mobility,” added Goyal.

The annual continuation of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo is expected to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the mobility ecosystem in India. The event will continue to serve as a platform for industry stakeholders, policymakers, innovators, and enthusiasts to converge, exchange ideas, and drive the evolution of mobility solutions.

Guided by the 7C’s framework, the expo seems to have emerged as a platform that showcased the latest innovations and also facilitated meaningful collaborations among industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders. The unveiling of a diverse range of electric, hybrid, CNG, and biofuel-powered vehicles underscored the Indian automotive industry’s unwavering commitment to driving innovation and progressive growth.

Beyond vehicle showcases, the event witnessed active participation from over 600 auto component manufacturers from across 13 plus global markets, highlighting the comprehensive array of products, technologies, and services available for OEMs, the aftermarket, and various supply chains. The dedicated country pavilions and broad international participation showcased the global resonance of the expo, with countries like Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand contributing significantly.

The integration of ACMA’s flagship aftermarket expo, the ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, further enriched the event, emphasising the expo’s inclusive approach towards the entire automotive ecosystem. With EEPC as the coordinating agency, the exhibition also saw participation from leading industry bodies such as SIAM, ACMA, IESA, ATMA, NASSCOM, ISA, ICEMA, MRAI, ITPO, Invest India, IBEF, and CII.
