Bajaj Avenger price, features, engine, variants

The 220 Street will likely have similar bodywork and styling as the smaller Avenger 160 Street.

We have learned that Bajaj is planning to reintroduce the Avenger 220 Street in India after it was discontinued back in 2020. It will use the same engine as the Avenger 220 Cruise (and its one that’s also found in the recently ressurected Pulsar 220F) but will have typical cruiser styling.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street: familiar engine and underpinnings

The 220 Street will employ the same air/oil-cooled, 220cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 19hp at 8,500rpm and 17.55 Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Much like the other Avengers, it will get a pretty basic suspension setup with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. Braking duties will quite likely be handled by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, much like the 220 Cruise.

Compared to the Avenger 220 Cruise that’s currently on sale, the 220 Street will feature more blacked-out bodywork, alloy wheels and will miss out on the backrest as well as the large front windscreen. The styling of the upcoming 220 Street will be more in line with the Avenger 160 Street.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street: price

The Avenger 220 Cruise is currently priced at Rs 1,38,368 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and we expect the 220 Street to be priced slightly lower, considering that historically, the Street variant of the Avenger has been more affordable than the Cruise.
