Autotalks supplying ZF with V2X chips

ZF has chosen Israeli V2X specialist Autotalks to provide dual-mode chipsets for its ProConnect connectivity unit.

ZF will first use the chips in 2getthere autonomous e-shuttles.

The chipsets are used for vehicle to infrastructure capabilities which allow them to communicate with roadside units and to interface with road infrastructure objects such as traffic lights. This communication helps autonomous vehicles to obtain full knowledge of traffic light status and request green lights for a smooth intersection crossing and avoid hazards.

Autotalks said its chipsets are designed to meet the reliability and security needs of autonomous vehicles.

“We are honoured that a world-class automotive systems provider such as ZF chose to team up with Autotalks to take part in creating its ADAS platform,” said CEO Hagai Zyss.
