Audi Q3 & Q3 Sportback: local assembly
In a press release, Audi said “ With this, the VW Group reiterates its commitment to Make in India and continues to enhance its product offering to meet the ever evolving needs of the discerning Indian luxury customer.”
The Q3 will be the 5th Audi that is locally produced, along with the Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi Q5 and Audi Q7 at the brand’s plant in Aurangabad.
Audi Q3 & Q3 sportback price
There is usually a drop in price once a model is locally assembled which has been the case with the Mercedes S-class and even BMW models. However, Audi India has stated that there is no reduction in the price of the Q3 lineup because they had anticipated the India assembly and hence, priced the SUV accordingly.
However, in April, Audi hiked the price of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback by 1.6 percent which would be applicable from May 1, 2023. Other select models got a price hike of 2.4 percent. The reason for the hike was “the rise in custom duty and input costs”. This price change has not yet been reflected on the Audi India Website.
If you look a little further back, in December Audi hiked the price of all models from January 1, 2023 by 1.7 percent due to “rising supply-chain-related input and operational costs”.
Audi Q3 & Q3 Sportback: performance and features
