2021 Audi A4 facelift: What’s new?

The most recent update is the second that Audi’s sedan has received in the recent past. The brand had discontinued the previous model with the advent of BS6 emission norms. The A4’s design has been revised again – there’s a wider, single-frame grille, new headlamps with DRLs, tweaked front and rear bumpers, and reshaped tail-lamps.

While the interiors of the 2021 A4 will feel familiar, the free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is new. The A4 also retains physical controls for the climate control system, unlike the A6 and A8, which get a second display for the function.

Another big change for this update is the new 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which replaces the 150hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. Developing 190hp, this unit is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox and transmit power to the front wheels. Like its siblings, the A4 will not be offered with a diesel engine option.

2021 Audi A4 facelift launch, variants and price

When new A4 prices are announced on January 5, the A4 is expected to be offered in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology. Both are available to book for a Rs 2 lakh sum via Audi’s website. Features such as Audi’s ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instrument cluster, all-LED headlamps, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting and more, are expected on the top-spec trim.

Like its predecessor, the A4 facelift, which is likely to be priced at around Rs 42 lakh (ex-showroon) will go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-class, BMW 3 Series and Jaguar XE. Come March, it’ll have another rival in the form of the next-gen Volvo S60.
