Ather says that though its subsidy amount has been cut by Rs 32,000, it is absorbing some of the increase in price.
With the reduction in the FAME-II subsidy coming into effect from today, EV OEMs are steadily announcing the new prices for their products. The latest to do so is Bengaluru-based startup, Ather Energy.
Ather has increased the prices of its flagship offering, the 450X, by Rs 20,000 and the e-scooter is now priced at Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, including FAME-II subsidy). Despite the company having its subsidy reduced by Rs 32,000, it has hiked the prices by Rs 20,000 and absorbed the balance.
Recently, the company revealed a range of new colour options for the 450X and introduced a number of new features such as hill hold as well as a redesigned seat unit that claimed to increase comfort. The Ather Grid fast-charging network is one of the most widespread ones in the country and has more than a 1,000 stations pan-India.
With the prices of the Ola S1 range being revised as recently as yesterday and Matter also hiking the prices of its Aera e-bike just a few days ago, prices for the rest of the EV offerings will soon be revised as well. Watch this space for all the latest updates.
