Triumph India will launch the 2023 Street Triple R and Street Triple RS on March 15. The company made the announcement on its social media platforms.

  1. Street Triple 765 R and RS make more power
  2. Get IMU assisted traction control and cornering ABS
  3. Styling has been tweaked to make the bike look sharper

2023 Triumph Street Triple R and Street Triple RS: more power, better equipment

The updated Triumph Street Triple R’s inline-three makes 120hp while the Street Triple RS’s motor develops 130hp. The peak torque developed by the engines in both bikes, however, is the same at 80Nm. Triumph has also revised the gearing as well as the final drive to improve responsiveness and acceleration. A new, freer-flowing exhaust is said to offer the characteristic inline-triple sound that the Street Triple is famous for. Both variants get an up/down quickshifter as standard.

Moving to the electronics, the bike finally gets IMU assisted, cornering ABS and traction control. This expands the safety net that bike offers and brings the Triumph at par with the likes of the KTM 890 Duke, as far as electronic nannies are concerned.

As for the Ride modes, these too have been “optimised”, says Triumph.  The R variant now features four ride modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable. The RS, on the other hand, has an additional Track mode. Triumph says they’ve added more dynamic throttle maps in Road, Sport and Track modes for more responsiveness.

All the settings for the electronics can be accessed via a 5-inch, colour TFT display on the RS  while the base, R version makes do with a more basic, Trident-esq display.

Triumph Street Triple R and Street Triple RS: chassis

Another big change has been made to the steering geometry, with the RS featuring a sharper rake and a shorter wheelbase. The tail section has also been raised by means of adding a spacer on the monoshock. The result is a bike that’s quicker to tip into a corner and with reduced steering effort, aided by the new 12mm wider handlebar. The R also benefits from the extra leverage provided by the same, wider handlebar.

As for the brakes, the RS gets a major update in the form of Brembo Stylema calipers that offer better bite and feedback than the already good Brembo Monobloc M50s that it replaces.

2023 Street Triple 765 R and RS: design

Triumph has made a few tweaks to the design in order to make the bike appear sharper than ever before. The fuel tank, for instance, is smaller with large knee recesses to grab on to the bike. The tank extensions have been reprofiled to make for a sharper look and the new flyscreen above the twin-LED headlights is another neat addition. Add to this the new colour options, especially the yellow on the RS and new Street Triple looks better than ever.

2023 Street Triple 765 R and RS: price and availability

Triumph India is expected to bump up the prices of the Street Triple R and RS, considering the number of updates to the bikes in their 2023 avatar. The prices should hover anywhere between the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh mark. The bikes will be available at all Triumph dealerships in the country.
