Suzuki has launched its BS6-compliant (Euro 5) V-Strom 650 XT in Australia. This is the same bike that’s expected to make its way to India.

India launch delayed due to the pandemic

Power figures remain nearly the same

Available in three new colour schemes
Suzuki first showcased its BS6-compliant V-Strom 650 XT back in February at Auto Expo 2020. It was showcased alongside other updated models from the company.
While we have seen the BS6-compliant Gixxer range, and the Access and Burgman Street have made their way to the Indian market, the company’s V-Strom has been delayed due to the pandemic.
However, Suzuki has launched its updated V-Strom 650 XT in Australia and it gives us a good idea of what to expect. Firstly, the 645cc, V-twin engine doesn’t appear to have lost much power. It now makes 70.7hp and 62Nm of torque, which makes it nearly identical to the BS4 model’s 71hp and 62Nm.
Another change comes in the form of the colour schemes on offer. The Australian market gets the choice of Metallic Oort Grey, Pearl Brilliant White and Candy Daring Red/Glass Sparkle Black colour schemes.
What is quite surprising is that the BS6 V-Strom showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, and on the company’s Indian website, has the bike in yellow.
While we can’t be sure of whether or not to expect the yellow colour scheme, we can be sure of its launch here. We expect it to be one of Suzuki’s first BS6-compliant big bikes in India.
