2021 MV Agusta Rush: design and ergonomics

MV Agustas are known for their striking designs, and the 2021 Rush is no exception. MV Agusta says the Rush is inspired by its military origins, looking raw and muscular. The beefy tank, with its new colours and sharp edges, takes pride of place in the entire scheme of things. The round headlamp, with its intricate details, is a nice touch, and the gold fork and clip-ons add to the stance of this naked motorcycle.

MV Agusta has also added Alcantara seats for the rider and the tiny pillion seat, which is best left unused. In fact, the pillion seat forms a tail section and puts up the fat, 200-section tyre, single-sided swingarm and quad pipes on full display.

The ergonomics are committed, with low-set clip-ons, aggressively rear-set foot pegs, and an 845mm seat height.

2021 MV Agusta Rush: engine and electronics

The big talking point about the 2021 MV Agusta Rush is the 998cc, four-cylinder engine. It produces 208hp at 13,000rpm and the optional race kit unlocks an additional 4hp to take the total to 212hp at 13,600rpm. Top speed is claimed to be over 300kph.

The engine has also received a few improvements in the form of Diamond Like Coating (DLC) on the valve bucket and lower friction primary drive gearing. The 6-speed gearbox has been updated, too, with a revised quickshifter, called EAS 3.0, for even more precise shifts.

In terms of electronics, the 2021 Rush gets IMU-assisted traction control and cornering ABS. As expected, there are ride modes, traction control, and wheelie control settings to choose from.

The settings can be accessed via a new 5.5-inch TFT dash that also offers My MV App connectivity. This allows riders to adjust settings remotely.

2021 MV Agusta Rush: chassis

The MV Agusta has a CrMo steel tubular trellis frame and has also employed fully adjustable Ohlins electronic suspension. The brakes have been upgraded to Brembo Stylemas, while the bike rides on sticky Pirelli Supercorsa tyres.

2021 MV Agusta Rush: optional race kit

For some extra cash, MV Agusta will ship the Rush with a wooden chest that contains a race kit. It includes an SC project exhaust, race ECU and passenger seat cover. In addition, there are CNC brake/clutch levers and a fuel tank cap. A customised motorcycle cover and certificate of origin is also included.

2021 MV Agusta Rush: price and availability

The 2021 Rush is priced at 38,000 Euro (around Rs 34 lakh). The bike will go on sale in international markets soon, but it is unlikely that it will be available in India.
