The ZX-4RR is the most expensive 400cc motorcycle in India; costs just Rs 28,000 less than the Z900.

A few days after Kawasaki teased the ZX-4RR, it has now listed the up-spec bike on the Indian website at a cool Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India)

  1. Makes same 80hp as standard 4R
  2. Gets a bidirectional quickshifter as standard
  3. Fully adjustable monoshock, preload-adjustable fork

Kawasaki ZX-4RR power, features, colours

Powering the Kawasaki ZX-4RR is the same liquid-cooled, 399cc, inline four engine making 77hp at 14,500rpm and 39Nm of torque at 13,000rpm. Needless to say, this little motor will need to be revved out to extract its maximum potential. With RAM air, the peak power output rises to 80hp.

While the main frame on the ZX-4RR is the same as the standard 4R, suspension differs greatly from the base bike. The fork is adjustable for preload and the monoshock is fully adjustable. The 4RR also comes standard with a bidirectional quickshifter, an optional extra on the ZX-4R. While the ZX-4RR’s design and bodywork is identical to the 4R, it comes draped in the signature Kawasaki Racing Green colour scheme.

The electronics suite is the same between both the small-capacity ZX models and includes 4 riding modes – Sport, Road, Rain and Rider (customisable). Toggling through these adjusts the power modes, traction control and ABS intervention settings accordingly.

At Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Kawasaki ZX-4RR is priced Rs 61,000 higher than the already pricey ZX-4R. Both bikes come to India as CBUs which is why the price is on the higher side. In fact, the ZX-4RR costs just Rs 28,000 less than the much larger (and heavier) Z900. There are no direct rivals to the ZX-4RR but the closest one is the Triumph Daytona 660, which has been listed on Triumph’s Indian website but hasn’t gone on sale yet. Honda has filed a patent for the 2024 CBR650R but that model too isn’t currently on sale in our country.
