Volvo C40 Recharge design, powertrain and features
The Volvo C40 Recharge is a coupe-SUV that is based on the XC40 Recharge SUV. It features a sloping rear roofline that gives it a distinct look. The 4.4 meter EV also features a steeply raked windscreen and redesigned tail lights. The C40 Recharge gets Pixel LED headlights, a first on any Volvo model in India.
The C40 Recharge comes with a vertical 9.0-inch portrait-style infotainment unit and comes with features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, ADAS tech, powered front seats with driver-side memory function, heating and cooling, a dual-zone climate control system, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
The electric coupe is powered by a dual-motor set-up – one on each axle – with a 78kWh battery pack for a claimed range of 530km on a single charge on the WLTP cycle. The reason the range is drastically improved from the XC40 Recharge with which it shares a powertrain is because of the new generation battery cell technology and the aerodynamic shape. The combined power figure is 408hp and 660Nm of torque and Volvo claims the C40 Recharge can sprint from 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds.
