The 200 Duke will inherit the LED headlight from the larger 250 and 390 Dukes, though instrumentation will continue to be an LCD display.

Technology continues to trickle down KTM’s lineup in India, with the 200 Duke now all set to receive the LED headlight that was previously offered only on the larger 250 and 390 Dukes. This new version equipped with the LED headlight will be priced at Rs 1.97 lakh (ex-showroom).

  1. Halogen headlight version will remain on sale
  2. LED variant will be Rs 4,000 more expensive
  3. Instrumentation will continue to be an LCD display

The 200 Duke was KTM’s very first motorcycle to be offered in India when the company began operations back in 2012, and its biggest update came in 2020, when it received the current Super Duke-inspired styling from its larger siblings. It will soon more closely resemble the larger Dukes, with the addition of an LED headlight. The LED unit will be the same as that seen on the 250 and 390 Dukes, which will bring an improvement in brightness and spread compared to the halogen unit currently employed on the 200.

In many European markets, even the smaller 125 Duke gets an LED headlight, and even a TFT display. Our market is far more price-conscious, though, and the 200 Duke is already rather expensive for a 200cc motorcycle, at almost Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). So the TFT screen will not make its way onto the 200 Duke, and it will continue with the LCD display that it currently uses. This is the same spec seen on the 250 Duke as well, which also gets an LED headlight but makes do with an LCD display, leaving only the 390 with the TFT in India.

For those who don’t value the brighter headlight, you won’t be forced to pay the premium for it – KTM will keep the current 200 Duke on sale, with the halogen headlight. Prices for this version will remain pretty much the same, at Rs 1.93 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 4,000 more affordable than the LED variant.
