Editor’s Letter

I’m really excited about the digital media opportunities ahead for AM. We’ll be producing more in-depth content at AM-online, plus more topical webinars and podcasts that will inspire automotive managers to find new ways of overcoming their challenges.

And our digital special reports, examining major topics for motor retailers, will still allow you to turn the page, magazine-like.

But as this March 2023 issue of AM – the final issue after 32-odd years publication – was sent off to the printers it evoked a fond memory.

Almost 20 years ago I joined AM’s team (it was much bigger then) as news editor and within days I was sent off to Lookers Vauxhall at Star City, Birmingham, to meet the AM100 group’s then chief executive and chairman, Ken Surgenor and Fred Maguire.

A car-mad journalist, but lacking industry understanding, I was nervous but honest, and told them that I needed to learn about the industry and its issues from them and their peers.

That learning has never stopped. So, dear AM reader, I need you to join me in AM’s digital future.

And I need you to guide me on what we need to be doing to serve you to the best of our abilities.

If you haven’t already done so, please do sign up to AM-online at www.am-online.com/Identity/Account/Register as I’d hate for you to miss out on our future industry insights and news.

Keep in touch. Tim.
