Electric car brand Polestar is set to establish a UK sales headquarters with a customer test drive hub at the Bicester Heritage complex in Oxfordshire.
Polestar Bicester, based in a two-storey building in the Heritage Quarters, will be home to all operational staff, including the customer care centre team which Polestar UK recently took in-house, and sales, marketing, communications and operations functions
Since its 2020 launch there are already around 8,000 Polestar EVs on UK roads and the company expects to continue to grow this number rapidly.
Polestar’s ambition is to reach 290,000 vehicle deliveries globally by 2025, and in the first half of 2022 one in every eight Polestars sold was registered in the UK market.
It will open more Polestar Space showrooms later this year, where consumers can find out more about the brand before placing new car orders online.
The Polestar test drive hub on the ground floor of Polestar Bicester will offer a welcoming environment for customers to experience the Polestar electric cars, interact with Polestar specialists and take a test drive.
With Polestar’s focus on electric performance and sustainability, Polestar will be investing in the Bicester infrastructure including the expansion of the EV charging network to support customers and employees.
Jonathan Goodman, head of Polestar UK, said: “Establishing a UK commercial head office demonstrates the importance of the UK market reflecting the rate of pure EV adoption.
“Bicester has an approach to automotive and future tech that really resonated with Polestar.
“As the first large-scale OEM to move to Bicester and as an enthusiast marque, we expect we will fit in well with the other fantastic brands already on site.
“We will be an open and welcoming head office and we look forward to seeing Bicester Heritage visitors, as well as existing and future Polestar customers too.”
The car brand recent revealed it will put its latest concept car into production, adding an electric sports car to its model line-up, badged the Polestar 6.
