TVS will launch a new motorcycle on July 6

The TVS Motor Company  all set to launch a new motorcycle on July 6. While there is no clarity yet, there are a few awaited motorcycles from TVS, including the naked version of the RR 310 and the Zepplin power cruiser.

The TVS Zepplin was showcased in concept form a few years back at the 2018 Auto Expo in India. It showcased TVS’ take on a cruiser motorcycle, a power cruiser to be specific. The Zepplin concept featured an all-new 220cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 20hp at 8,500rpm and 18.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, and is paired to a five-speed gearbox. Additionally, the Zeppelin concept uses a patented Integrated Starter Generator system. TVS takes it a step further with an e-boost function that brings in added performance from a 1,200W regenerative assist motor, powered by a 48V Li-ion battery, when needed. The Zeppelin concept has a claimed top speed of 130kph.  You can read more about the concept TVS Zepplin here.

It will be interesting to see which parts of the concept bike have trickled down to the production bike, if the Zepplin debuts on July 6. While TVS has not revealed anything further on the Zepplin concept since 2018, the company did trademark the name Zepplin R in late 2020.

The other possibility is of TVS launching the street naked version of the Apache RR 310. TVS confirmed that this bike was in the works back in 2020. Built on the same platform as the BMW G 310 R, the TVS naked RR 310 is expected to feature its own flavour in terms of design and it may have a few performance related changes as well. In fact, TVS has been steadily enhancing the TVS Apache RR 310, by offering segment-firsts like adjustable suspension, riding modes, Bluetooth connectivity and more. Expect some of these features to make it to the street naked bike.

All said, it is only a matter of a few days before TVS unveils the new motorcycle that it says will herald a ‘new way of life.’

Stay tuned to find out more about the new bike and our first ride review as we shall  be riding it soon after the launch.
