While a Genesis Studio brand showcase space at Westfield London remains the Hyundai sister brand’s only physical presence in the UK, the new addition sees its range complete a growth from just two to six models in the nine months since its UK launch.

AM reported back in April last year that the online-only car retailer was set to become a “product-launch fantasy” ahead of its official launch in the UK on May 4.

Genesis Motor UK managing director Andrew Pilkington, who was interviewed for an AM brand profile on Genesis at its launch last summer, said: “GV60 marks a new electrifying era for Genesis in the UK, and we are thrilled to add our first all-electric car to our line-up for customers with pre-orders now open.

“As part of our overall global push for electrification we want to redefine what premium-luxury means to a new generation of electric vehicle customers.

“GV60 embodies the very essence of the Genesis brand – providing next generation technology without compromising on luxury.”

Based on the same E-GMP architecture as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 the new model offers a zero emissions range of 321 miles in Premium trim, 292 miles in Sport and 289 miles for the Sport Plus.

Premium features a 168kW rear-wheel drive single motor drivetrain, while Sport (priced from £53,605) combines 160kW and 74kW motors in its all-wheel-drive system.

Sport Plus (priced from £65,405) employs a pair of 160kW motors.

Using a 350kW rapid-charge, Genesis claims that the GV60 can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

Among the standard trim features of the GV60 is a dual 12.3-inch infotainment screen and wireless phone charging.

A centrepiece ‘Crystal Sphere’ electronic transmission control is also among the cabin highlights and intuitively informs the driver of driving modes.
