Ford to suspend orders for Maverick compact pickup

0

Ford is taking the unusual step of suspending retail orders for the Maverick compact pickup as it says it does not have the capacity to meet overwhelming demand for the vehicle.

In the US the company will stop taking new orders after January 27 to focus on existing bookings. The company will resume taking orders for the gasoline electric hybrid truck this summer.

It is unclear whether the global shortage of semiconductor chips has played a role in the decision.
