The ride-hailing sector has relied on existing vehicle models since its inception. However, as the automotive industry transitions to new electric platforms, those in the ride-hailing space see an opportunity to build bespoke vehicles.

It is a transition that makes plenty of sense. For instance, rather than drivers relying on their smartphone to access trip information and navigation, the necessary connectivity can be seamlessly integrated into the centre console instead.
